AVID Energy Solutions is seeking an experienced, highly motivated HVAC Technician and Installer to join our team in Worcester, MA. The role offers an annual salary of $50,000–$100,000+ plus uncapped commissions, helping customers with energy efficiency and utility cost savings.
The ideal candidate will be organized, well‑skilled in all aspects of HVAC installation and service. Experience working for a Mass Save® partner is preferred but not required. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, repairing and servicing HVAC, heat pumps, boiler/hydronics, ventilation, AC systems and related equipment.
Essential Job Functions & Qualifications- 1+ year of experience in system startup and installation
- Completion of an accredited HVAC training program or apprenticeship (preferred)
- Active driver’s license with no or minimal driving infractions
- License and/or certification for sheet metal, EPA and/or plumbing (preferred)
- OSHA 10 required and OSHA 30 preferred
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and install ventilation and exhaust systems, air ducts with actuated dampers
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions using auditory cues and testing devices such as meters and probes
- Listen and look for system abnormalities such as piston slap, oil leakage, and unusual vibration
- Trace and troubleshoot control system wiring, connections and ensure all covers and panels are properly installed
- Test for refrigerant leaks using halide leak detectors, liquid soap solutions or other approved methods
- Use oxyacetylene or propane torch for soldering and brazing pipe
- Maintain and repair hot water boilers, heat pumps of various tonnages, low‑pressure steam boilers, forced air and related equipment
- Work 7:30 am – 5:00 pm daily and additional hours as needed or required
- Good work ethic, can‑do attitude, and integrity even when no one is watching
- Consistent tidy appearance
- Able to understand verbal and written instructions
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Able to organize assigned tasks for completion alone or with help
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and solve problems with minimal supervision
- Ability to enter and maneuver in crawl spaces, basements and attics as needed
- Bilingual preferred but not required
- Travels frequently within assigned territory
