Position:Mobile Diesel Technician Level II
Shift: Saturday - Wednesday
New Hire Bonus: $3000 New Hire Bonus, 50% after 30 days and 50% after 180 days
Responsibilities- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment, including Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
- Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
- Identify problems and evaluate alternatives using sound judgment.
- Manage parts inventory and equipment on the company‑issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation.
- Maintain and operate the company‑issued service vehicle, performing safety checks and pre‑/post‑trip inspections.
- Listen effectively to clients to assess their needs and resolve problems.
- Prioritize concurrent tasks and manage time allocations effectively.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
- Document work and upload pictures of parts used and findings to Repair Orders (RO) via the company‑issued iOS device and TRAIT application.
- Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion.
- Operate with a high degree of independence and manage daily schedule.
- Maintain a high level of productivity and work within standard repair times.
- Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as needed.
- Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain repair estimates, purchase order numbers, and discuss RO findings.
- Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for job duties.
- Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
- Must successfully pass a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
- Hold a current and valid DOT medical card with more than four months until expiration (or otherwise pass a DOT physical).
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Hold a valid state driver’s license and maintain the Driver Qualification File.
