Position:
Mobile Diesel Technician Level II

Shift: Saturday - Wednesday

New Hire Bonus: $3000 New Hire Bonus, 50% after 30 days and 50% after 180 days

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment, including Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Diesel steering systems, Engines (gas and diesel), Transmissions (manual and automatic), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
  • Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
  • Identify problems and evaluate alternatives using sound judgment.
  • Manage parts inventory and equipment on the company‑issued service truck, including periodic reconciliation.
  • Maintain and operate the company‑issued service vehicle, performing safety checks and pre‑/post‑trip inspections.
  • Listen effectively to clients to assess their needs and resolve problems.
  • Prioritize concurrent tasks and manage time allocations effectively.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
  • Document work and upload pictures of parts used and findings to Repair Orders (RO) via the company‑issued iOS device and TRAIT application.
  • Accurately complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Operate with a high degree of independence and manage daily schedule.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity and work within standard repair times.
  • Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as needed.
  • Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain repair estimates, purchase order numbers, and discuss RO findings.
  • Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED and 3 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for job duties.
  • Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
  • Must successfully pass a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
  • Hold a current and valid DOT medical card with more than four months until expiration (or otherwise pass a DOT physical).
  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Hold a valid state driver’s license and maintain the Driver Qualification File.

  • A.S.E. T8 (PMI) certification

  • A.S.E. T3 (Drivetrain) certification
  • A.S.E. T4 (Brakes) certification
  • A.S.E. T5 (Suspension) certification
  • A.S.E. T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) certification
  • A.S.E. T7 (HVAC) certification
  • A.S.E. 608/609 certification
