Position:  College Application Essay Mentor
We are a China-based educational consulting company focused on helping Chinese high schoolers apply for admission to to top-notch US-based colleges and universities. As part of our plan to expand our business in the central part of China, we are currently hiring a college essay mentor to join our mentor team on a part-time or full-time basis. We need someone to help our students craft their Common App essays, coalition essays, resumes, and supplement essays if necessary, and guide them throughout the entire application process.



You’ll be responsible for

1. Helping students identify their academic and extracurricular passions

2. Curating a list of colleges and universities that fit the student’s profile

3. Giving pre-writing seminars and lectures through online video meetings

4. Helping students brainstorm ideas for their essays and instructing them in the writing process

5. Editing and polishing students’ drafts of their work

6. Having conversations with students and their parents and answering questions they may have about the essay writing process





Our hourly rates start from $100. You will be expected to mentor about 5 students this coming application season. We have a very flexible schedule and you can work from any location. We also provide full-time opportunities if you feel comfortable working in China.
Position Requirements
Bachelor
To be eligible for the job, you need to:

1. Have exceptional writing skills

2. Have a deep understanding of the selective college admissions process

3. Be creative and ingenious

4. Be able to work under deadlines



Bonus points if you have

1. An undergraduate degree from a selective university

2. Experience working in the admissions office of any selective university
Required Language Skills:
