Fallingwater, a property entrusted to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy,designated as a National Historic Landmark and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, is seekinga full-time Security Officer for the Security department .The Security Officer provides a secure environment for visitors andstaff, andassistsinmaintainingthe physical security systems and activities related to the protection, safeguarding and security of the Fallingwater site, buildingsadjacent tothe site, and WPC properties.
This position reports directly to the Director of Safety and Security.
- Assists with the preventative maintenance and minor repair of security equipment as requested.
- Monitors security of buildings, collections and grounds.
- Prepares incident reports and accident reports.
- Reports unusual incidents or occurrences.
- Keeps log on security and safety related events.
- Supports the Conservancy’s cost containment and fundraising efforts and needs, as applicable.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

- Ability to work shifts,weekends and holidays.
- Steady or rotating shifts include the evening,nightand day shifts.
- Utilizing keyboarding and fine motor skills.
- Utilizing gross motor skills tooperatetools and equipment.
- Driving amotor vehicle.
- Pushing, pulling,lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Bending, twisting, stooping, crouching,kneelingand crawling.
- Reachingoverhead, at and below eye level.
- Climbing up and down stairways and ladders.
- Sitting/standing/walking for periodsin excess oftwohours.
- Possesses sufficient physical stamina to conduct field investigations in rough terrain and adverse weather conditions.
- Speaking and hearing in-person, telephone, and other remote speech.
- Seeing withnear,farand peripheral visual acuity.
- Associate degree in security related field or a minimum of two yearspriorsecurity experience with high exposure to the general public, with security experience in a museum setting preferred.
- Proven ability to follow detailed procedures and policies.
- Knowledge of securityalarm, accesscontroland video surveillance systems.
- Current certification in first aid and CPR.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to interact positively and professionally with visitors and staff and remain calm under pressure. - Act 33 and 34 clearancesrequiredwithinfirstsix months of employment.
- Must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
