Cargo Controller

Hull | £31,000 per annum | Full-time, Permanent

We are recruiting for a Cargo Controller to join a busy logistics operation in Hull. This is a great opportunity for someone who already has experience within logistics, transport, freight, shipping, import/export, customer operations or planning, but we are also open to someone with strong administration or coordination skills who is looking to build a career within logistics.

• Coordinating cargo, equipment and trailer movements
• Updating internal systems with accurate movement information
• Liaising with internal teams, customers, suppliers and external partners
• Monitoring schedules and communicating any changes or delays
• Checking key documentation and following up missing information
• Helping avoid delays, failed collections, storage costs or additional charges
• Supporting the wider operations team with planning and coordination activity
• Escalating operational issues and helping resolve problems quickly
• Maintaining accurate records across internal systems and spreadsheets

This role could suit someone with previous experience in:

• Logistics
• Transport
• Freight

• Planning or coordination

You do not need to have direct experience in this exact type of role, but you must be organised, accurate, willing to learn, comfortable using systems and able to work in a fast‑paced operational environment.

Hours
:
Full‑time, Monday to Friday, working on a rotating daytime shift pattern including earlier and later starts.
