CDL Driver

Position Purpose

The CDL Driver at SRS supports operational efficiency by safely delivering building materials to job sites within a 200‑mile radius, verifying inventory, following safety protocols, and maintaining high service standards.

• Safely operate Class A or B vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and company policy.
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and verify inventory accuracy for each delivery.
• Assess job‑site conditions, prevent hazards, and collaborate with customers for proper material placement.
• Document deliveries with photos and maintain accurate delivery logs per company policy.
• Support yard operations and uphold OSHA safety standards to keep the work environment clean and safe.
• Ensure all deliveries begin and end at the home branch the same day – no overnight stays.
• Assist with loading/unloading of materials, including operation of forklifts when required.
• Work effectively in varied weather and noise conditions and communicate job details in English.

Must be physically capable of long hours of driving and handling materials up to 100 lbs. The role involves fast‑paced schedules, varied weather, and both on‑site and yard duties without overnight travel.

• Valid CDL Class A or B with air‑brakes endorsement and a clean driving record.
• Experience in commercial driving and knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations.
• High school diploma or GED; 18+ (21 for interstate/hazmat). Must pass background checks, drug tests, and E‑Verify.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. and operate forklifts safely.
• Strong communication skills in English.

• Hazmat endorsement.
• Experience with multi‑drop deliveries and fleet management systems.
• Vehicle maintenance skills.
• Multilingual abilities are a plus.
• Vocational or industry‑specific training in truck driving.

• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A or CDL
  
  B) with Air Brakes Endorsement – Required.
• Current DOT Medical Certificate – Required.
• Forklift Certification – Preferred.
• FMCSA Registration – Required.
