Team Lead Data Generation; f​/m​/d

Hexagon Robotics is a division of Hexagon – a global leader in precision measurement. The division develops humanoid robots for industrial sectors to address labor shortages and accelerate the transition from automation to autonomy. Our first humanoid, AEON, was launched in June 2025 and is already in pilots with five customers.

We're hiring a Team Lead Data Generation to own the end-to-end strategy and execution for data generation and data collection across Robotics R&D. You will build and lead the function that ensures R&D teams have the best possible data for training and testing - available, accessible, actionable, accurate, and curated. This includes selecting the best approach (in-house capabilities vs. external partners), managing service providers and partnerships for scalable data collection/data generation, and coordinating with MLOps to ensure proper curation and accessibility of the data.

Technical expertise in robotics/ML is helpful, but this role is primarily about data management and exceptional execution.

• Own and coordinate data generation, data collection and data management for humanoid robotics (end-to-end)
• Define and implement the data roadmap with R&D stakeholders and set up a scalable delivery model (internal experts + external providers) to respond fast to changing demands
• Define and periodically augment the multimodal data sets required to ensure the Engineering objectives can be met
• Manage the datasets across their entire lifecycle, and use best in class tools and platforms to ensure availability, accessibility, security, governance, and compliance
• Act as the central data steward across multimodal data sets
• Establish quality standards, acceptance criteria and data hygiene practices across sources (teleop, demos, simulation, partners) with clear KPIs that are tracked and measured against
• Partner with Imitation Learning, Control, Simulation and MLOps teams, and coordinate external suppliers, to ensure the right data is delivered on time

• MSc or equivalent in Engineering
• Entrepreneurial, delivery-driven mindset; passion for robotics and data
• Experience managing external suppliers/service providers and partnerships
• Experience defining processes and KPIs for large-scale data generation, quality assurance and delivery
• Experience with teleoperation/data collection tolling is a plus
• Technical understanding of robotics / ML data needs is a strong plus (this is not a typical R&D role)
• Strong program/project management and stakeholder management skills (multiple R&D teams + vendors)
• People management/team supervision experience is a plus
