UK High School Immersion:
UK High School Immersion specialises in placing foreign students in to high schools in the south of England. The high schools we work with are performing well according to the government inspection body OFSTED. UKHSI provides a 24/7 support service prior to the students arrival and throughout the students stay. Our team available to deal with any request of the student.
UK High School Immersion is aware that overseas travel can be an exciting but worrying time for our young travellers so we ensure that the transition period is as easy as possible.
We have a dedicated Airport Team who deal with our airport transfers.
The Airport Transfer service includes a ‘Meet and Greet’ service where UKHSI representatives will meet students at the airport.
We also offer a UM (unaccompanied minor service) and an Assisted Check in service at an additional charge.
We use individual and shared taxis plus minibuses where appropriate. All drivers are police checked.
Wherever possible we will try to provide a speaker of the students’ native language.
We have a special transfer emergency number for extra peace of mind that you will be given before departure.
The standard package price includes bed and board from Sunday to Saturday. Our courses run every Monday. The price includes the transfer from London Gatwick to Brighton and return.
Supervision and transfer options are available for arrivals at other airports but additional charges will apply.

UKHSI has a deep concern for child safety. We understand that many of our students are away from home for the first time so we offer a child safety programme that our accrediting body described as ‘innovative’.
All staff who deal with our students are police checked including drivers for transfers and host families.
Staff who work on UKHSI programmes hold a recognised certificate in Basic Child safety and Protection and senior management hold the advanced qualification.
There is also a welfare officer who is available 24 hours.
We offer a special chaperone service available for younger learners. The nominated chaperone will meet students at their home and take them to their lessons and make sure they arrive back home safely after lessons or activities.
Our teacher/student ratio is high.
We have 24 hour emergency help line 7 days a week.
Student ID wrist bands
Our stringent policies and procedures ensure our students’ safety at all times.
Our Policy:
UKHSI believes that the welfare of a child or young person is paramount.
All children & young people, whatever their age, culture, disability, gender, language, racial origin, religious beliefs and/or sexual identity have the right to protection from abuse.
All suspicions and allegations of abuse will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately.
Staff will be clear on how to respond appropriately.
There is no single age in UK legislation where children stop being children and become young adults. For Child Protection purposes and for the Disclosure and Barring Scheme (DBS) children are defined as anyone under the age of 18.
We will endeavour to safeguard children & young people by:
Adopting child protection procedures.
Sharing information about concerns with agencies that need to know. Dolphin Junior Learning staff may be unable to offer total confidentiality to a student as there is a legal commitment to protect young persons from abuse.
Following carefully the procedures for recruitment and selection of all staff.
Being aware that all adults on our premises offering services must be monitored
Providing effective management for staff through supervision, support and training.
Reporting to the Child Protection Officer if abuse is suspected, while a child under 18 is studying at the school.
Being aware of health and safety, bullying and harassment, online protection and photography issues particularly relating to children and young people
Duty of Care
As education providers owes its students a duty of care in respect of their safety. Where the student is under 18 we will take the care that a reasonably prudent or careful parent would take of his/her parents in the circumstances. We recognise that these may include the fact that under 18s may not have the same knowledge or experience of the UK as home students so may be more vulnerable.
UKHSI understands that as well as quality English Language courses, accommodation is very important. That’s why we go to every length to find the best accommodation possible in Brighton.
Host Family Accommodation is perhaps the most traditional form of accommodation and offers students the opportunity to experience life with a local family.
Students are placed with an experienced host family who have been police checked and their homes meet our regulations. Meals will be provided and students live as part of the family in a safe environment where they are encouraged to speak in English.

FULL ACADEMIC YEAR AND FULL TERM PROGRAMME NOW AVAILABLE FOR INDIVIDUALS – FLEXIBLE
UK High School Immersion is proud to announce one of our most successful programme aimed at groups of young learners aged 12 to 17 years of age who wish to come to the UK and attend a local school whilst staying in host family accommodation.
We have a close connection with our local community and two schools have come together with UKHSI to offer students a unique opportunity to study alongside native students of the same age. Due to high demand we are also working alongside other schools across the UK and hope to announce further venues later in the year.
This exciting programme enables students to gain academic knowledge, improve their English skills and become familiar with different teaching and learning styles. This total immersion programme is also consolidated by living with a local host family where English is spoken and serves to build upon the skills learned in the classroom.
Students will shadow English speaking students when they attend academic lessons such as Maths, Science, social studies and other subjects available on the curriculum making this a truly all round learning experience.
There will be the chance for students to prepare a presentation on their country during their stay and to form new friends and experience first-hand British education and culture.

The BUDDY SYSTEM.
We also have a special BUDDY system which helps students make friends before the course and begin to communicate in English together.
How the BUDDY system works.
The BUDDY system is where responsible students from the school in the UK will be chosen by their school to ‘befriend’ students who will be attending the immersion programme (One English student to One foreign student). Using social media the students will encourage speaking and listening skills as well as reading and writing skills before the students arrive at the school.
The students will meet their English BUDDY on their first day at school and attend classes with them. The BUDDY system will be implemented once our requirements are met and once booking has been made.
