The Embassy of Canada in Budapest offers a number of services to both Canadians and Hungarians alike. In addition, the Embassy is also accredited to the countries of Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Embassy provides consular services to Canadian citizens residing or travelling in Hungary and in the Republic of Slovenia. Consular services for Canadians in Bosnia and Herzegovina are provided by the Embassy of Canada to Austria.

Hungarians citizens who plan to fly to or transit through a Canadian airport need to apply online for an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). They can apply with a valid passport, a credit or a debit card, and an email address. If Hungarian citizens plan to drive or arrive by train, bus, or boat they don’t need a visa or eTA, but they need to bring the right travel documents.

Accepted methods of payment for services provided by the Embassy:

• By credit card (Visa or Master)
• By money transfer (only for payments from Slovenia)
• Payments in cash – accepted only when appearing in person at the Consular Section

The Embassy is closed on Public holidays.
