Nǐ Hǎo and welcome! Enrolling in evening Chinese classes with ABC Languages in NYC is an excellent way to achieve your language learning goals. Conveniently located in Manhattan, ABC provides Mandarin classes in the evening for adults from basic beginner to advanced level. Whether you need to learn Chinese for business, for travel or simply as a hobby, our fun and interactive classes will improve your conversational Chinese, as well as your reading and writing skills. ABC also offers private Mandarin lessons at our school or in your Manhattan home or office. Our flexible scheduling options allow you to choose day, evening or weekend classes.

Evening Chinese Classes:

•  Total Beginner Mandarin Chinese Group Classes:
Enroll for 6, 8, or 12 weeks. Class meets once a week for 1.5 hours.

Our total beginner classes are designed for those with little or no previous exposure to Mandarin Chinese. During the first 6 classes, you will learn basic conversational Chinese skills, and be introduced to the tones and pin-yin (the romanized version of Chinese).

Those who sign up for an 8 week or 12 week course will continue to build on their vocabulary, speaking, and reading skills including an introduction to Chinese characters.

•  High Beginner to Advanced Mandarin Group Classes:
If you are not a complete beginner, ABC can help you with class placement and will recommend the class that we feel is most appropriate to your level.

You are welcome to attend a trial class. If you are happy with it and decide to enroll, the trial will be counted as your first class. If not, there will be no charge and we will examine other options for you.

The focus of our Mandarin classes is on conversation, and you will have lots of opportunity to practice your spoken Chinese through fun and interactive role plays, games and lively conversation with your classmates and teacher. Class sizes are kept small, with a maximum of 9 students.

Our popular school is located in Chelsea, Manhattan West Side at 146 West 29th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues, near Penn Station, NoMad, Flatiron, Koreatown and Midtown).
