La Escuela Del Sol, Montezuma:
Combine quality Spanish language classes with surfing in Costa Rica! La Escuela Del Sol provides Spanish and Surfing programs for students from around the world. Our school is located in Montezuma, a picturesque little town known for its tranquility, its beauty and its sense of adventure, on the eastern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula. Our 1-4 week, college-level Spanish immersion programs are ideal for those who wish to learn Spanish quickly while experiencing an adventure in a tropical paradise. In addition to our Spanish and surfing lessons, we provide classes in scuba diving, yoga and poi (fire dancing), all of which can be combined with either Spanish or surfing.

Spanish & Surfing Programs:
Course Duration: 1-4 weeks

- 2 hours of classroom instruction, M-F
- 2 hours of applied learning (in class or outside), M-F
- Books and instructional materials
- Surfboard rental
- Introduction to surfing on beach for beginners
- 2 hours of surfing instruction at best local beach, M-F
- Guided waterfall hike
- Accommodation at La Escuela Del Sol
- Optional zip line canopy tour or guided horseback riding to private waterfalls (weekends only)

Beginner & Intermediate Surfers:
After going over the introduction on land, you will spend the next two hours in the water practicing your balance on the board while getting a feel for the waves and the basic techniques on how to stand up and paddle effectively. For beginners, these lessons will introduce you to surfing and give you the tools for what often becomes a lifelong passion. Intermediate surfers will have a chance to hone your skills on a relatively unknown and empty beach. Those of you from California know how much of a privilege that can be!

Intermediate & Advanced Surfers (Surfing Safari):
There is a maximum of 4 surfers for this special package and requirements that you have previous surfing experience (at least an intermediate level) and fairly strong swimming skills. For intermediate and advanced surfers, this is the ultimate Costa Rican surfing experience!!

The Surfing Safari program can be combined with Spanish classes, Yoga Retreat and Poi lessons but is not compatible with our Scuba Certification course.
