Rathdown School is a private day and boarding girls' school located in Glenageary in south county Dublin, on the east coast of Ireland. Rathdown was founded in 1973, built on the proud traditions of four original schools: The Hall School, Hillcourt School, Park House School and Glengara Park School.

Rathdown currently has around 600 girls enrolled - 400 in the Senior School and 200 in the Junior School. The School is committed to providing high academic standards and a wide range of subjects and facilities for all its students.

Located on beautiful grounds, Rathdown School consists of a Junior School, a Senior School, boarding houses, tennis courts, hockey pitches, a gymnasium and a cricket oval.

Directions / Instructions:

Rathdown School is located on Upper Glenageary Road in Glenageary, just south of Dun Laoghaire. We are easy to access on public transport:

BUS – Catch the 7A from O’Connell Bridage to Sallynoggin Roundabout. Walk towards Killiney/Dalkey on Upper Glenageary Road and the School will be approximately 3 blocks on the right hand side.

TRAIN – Catch the DART to Glenageary Station. Exit the station and walk straight up Marlborough Road, which curves onto Adelaide Road. Turn left on Adelaide Road and walk up the hill to the end. Turn right onto Upper Glenageary Road and use the pedestrian-crossing to cross the road. Rathdown School is located about one block down on the left. Trains run approximately every 20 minutes.

If you plan on arriving at Rathdown School from overseas, please note that it is 7 miles from Dublin Port and 15 miles from Dublin Airport.
