Regional Commercial Director - Luxury & Lifestyle Hotels (Algarve)

The ideal candidate is a seasoned hospitality commercial leader with strong resort and leisure destination expertise, capable of driving sustainable growth in a multi-property environment.

United Hospitality Management is seeking a Regional Commercial Director to lead the commercial and sales strategy across a portfolio of 9 luxury and lifestyle hotels, representing 1,300+ rooms, in the Algarve.

Reporting to the COO, this senior role is responsible for driving top-line revenue performance, overseeing multi-property sales teams, and shaping market positioning across leisure, group, corporate, MICE, and travel trade segments. The position works closely with Revenue Management, Marketing, and Operations to deliver sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial & Sales Strategy

  • Define and implement the regional commercial and sales strategy aligned with United Hospitality Management's overall business and brand objectives
  • Drive market positioning, segmentation, and go-to-market strategies across leisure, group, corporate, MICE, and travel trade segments
  • Analyze market trends, demand drivers, and competitive performance to identify growth opportunities

Revenue Growth & Performance Management

  • Deliver and exceed regional revenue targets, budgets, and commercial KPIs
  • Work closely with Revenue Management and Marketing teams to optimize pricing, distribution, and promotional strategies
  • Monitor sales pipelines, forecasts, and performance, ensuring accountability and results across all properties

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop Regional and On-Property Sales Directors and teams
  • Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and implement coaching and development plans
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and commercially driven culture

Key Account & Relationship Management

  • Maintain and grow relationships with key corporate, group, leisure, and strategic accounts at regional and national levels
  • Represent United Hospitality Management at industry events, trade shows, and key client meetings
  • Negotiate and oversee major commercial agreements and partnerships

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Operations, Revenue Management, Marketing, and Brand teams to ensure seamless execution of commercial initiatives
  • Support new hotel openings, transitions, and rebranding projects within the region
  • Ensure consistency in commercial processes, CRM usage, reporting, and sales standards across the portfolio

Reporting & Governance

  • Prepare and present regular commercial performance reports, forecasts, and strategic updates to senior leadership
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, and ethical sales practices

Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience in senior hospitality commercial or sales leadership
  • Proven multi-property or regional experience, ideally in luxury, lifestyle, or resort destinations
  • Strong commercial acumen, leadership skills, and international market exposure
  • Fluent English required;
    Portuguese strongly preferred. Additional European languages (French, German, Spanish) are a plus
