Puesto: Local Writer for a National Newspaper Brand
We are a respected national newspaper brand with nearly thirty years of presence within the community. Our organisation is deeply rooted in the region, publishing seven regional newspapers focused on celebrating and supporting the community. Our mission is to assist in the integration of foreigners into the Spanish way of life, especially for those whose first language is not Spanish. We strongly emphasise supporting the vulnerable and needy in our society.
Tasks
Role Overview:
As a Local Writer, you will play a key role in fostering community connections through thoughtful, engaging, and informative writing. Your work will reflect the ethos of our brand, focusing on integration, cultural exchange, and supporting community members in need.
Key Responsibilities
Write engaging and accurate articles that highlight community stories, events, and initiatives.Collaborate with editors to develop content ideas aligned with our mission and values.Ensure that articles cater to local and foreign audiences, emphasising cultural integration.Attend local events and engage with community members to gather stories.Adhere to deadlines and editorial standards.Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
Proven experience as a writer or journalist, preferably focusing on community topics.Legal eligibility to work in Spain.Ownership of a reliable vehicle for attending events and conducting interviews.Deep understanding of the community and alignment with our mission to support cultural integration and the vulnerable.Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with diverse groups of people.Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish is a strong advantage.Track Record to Be Demonstrated
Portfolio of published articles showcasing a focus on community, culture, or social topics.Evidence of engagement with local or regional communities.Ability to produce accurate, compelling, and deadline-driven content.Benefits
