Summary:
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in enhancing the efficiency, accuracy, and standardization of financial reporting and closing processes. We are looking for a tenacious problem-solver with the autonomy to challenge the status quo and the initiative to propose new ways of working. You will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to accelerate closing timelines, build robust reconciliation tools, and lead the integration of systems across our Spain & UK subsidiaries.
Responsibilities Process Optimization:
Collaborate with the finance team to identify and implement more efficient methods for completing key closing tasks, with the goal of reducing closing days.
Reconciliation Development:
Design and implement new reconciliation working papers, ensuring alignment with team expectations and accounting standards.
Review & Quality Control:
Act as a reviewer for complex tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
Note:
The company is preparing for future US‑SOX adoption.
Accruals & Estimates:
Develop new accruals and estimates as needed to support the closing process, and perform monthly follow‑ups to validate accuracy.
Variance Analysis:
Perform detailed variance and flux analysis on all accounts and subsidiaries, following the Company’s standards for financial reporting and performance monitoring.
Integration Projects:
Actively participate in integration projects, ensuring alignment of processes and data consistency across systems.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and financial analysis. A combination of Big Four and industry experience is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting principles.
Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis and reconciliation tools.
Fluent in English is required, with the ability to conduct meetings with international colleagues.
Experience in process improvement or automation, or system integrations (ERP implementations, transformation projects) will be highly valued.
