Chief Accountant

OMODA & JAECOO Motors is a new brand built by Chery Group, which is a leading Chinese automobile company. OMODA & JAECOO operates individually from other brands of Chery Group. Its business scope covers R&D, production and sales of passenger cars.
This position is based fully on-site at our Barcelona office.

Responsible for general accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting for EU entities.
Ensure compliance with Spanish GAAP, IFRS, and EU accounting standards.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage tax filings, declarations, and liaise with local tax authorities and auditors.
Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and ensure accurate reconciliations.
Support treasury operations, cash flow management, and bank relationships.
Assist in budget preparation, cost control, and financial analysis.
Maintain and improve internal controls, ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
Provide timely financial insights and reports to management and HQ.
Support other finance related tasks as required.
Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related fields.
8+ years of accounting experience, preferably with multinational corporations.
Solid knowledge of Spanish GAAP, IFRS, and EU financial regulations.
Proven experience in tax compliance and financial audits.
Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (Excel).
Fluent in Spanish and English;
Catalan and Chinese are a plus.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced international environment.
