Senior Frontend Developer - Salesforce Commerce Cloud; M​/F​/D

THE ROLE

Canyon Bicycles is a global direct‑to‑consumer brand redefining how riders experience cycling through technology and design. Our e‑commerce platform, built on Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC), is at the heart of how we connect with our customers worldwide.

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to strengthen our international digital team. In this role, you’ll help shape Canyon’s online experience by developing high‑quality, scalable, and maintainable frontend solutions within our Salesforce Commerce Cloud ecosystem. You’ll collaborate closely with backend developers, UX/UI designers, and product managers to deliver user‑centric features and exceptional digital experiences.

This role is based in our Canyon Tech Hub Barcelona, bringing together top tech talent to shape the future of cycling.

• Develop, maintain, and optimize responsive web interfaces across our e‑commerce platform
• Implement UI components and design elements using semantic HTML, modern CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript/Type Script
• Translate design concepts into clean, performant, and accessible code
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data flow
• Drive improvements in performance, accessibility, and code maintainability
• Participate in code reviews, share knowledge
• Work cross‑functionally to deliver impactful features that enhance customer experience

Experience Level

• 5–8 years of professional experience in frontend web development
• Proven ability to deliver production‑grade, high‑quality web interfaces
• Experience in e‑commerce or other large‑scale digital platforms preferred

Core Technical Skills

• Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, and SCSS, with strong understanding of scalable architecture (BEM, ITCSS, etc.)
• Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and Type Script
• Familiarity with templating systems and integrating frontends into enterprise‑level platforms (ISML Templates is a plus)
• Strong grasp of responsive design, cross‑browser compatibility, and mobile‑first principles
• Experience optimizing frontend performance and applying WCAG accessibility standards
• Version control with Git, and experience with Jira, Confluence, and agile collaboration

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) or comparable e‑commerce systems
• Experience with headless CMS solutions such as Contentful
• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
• Experience with testing tools (Jest, Playwright)
• Knowledge of design systems, component libraries, and performance optimization best practices

Industry Domain Preference

• Experience in e‑commerce, retail, or digital product development
• Understanding of customer journeys, conversion, and user experience best practices
• Interest in technology, design, and performance‑driven digital products

Soft Skills & Collaboration

• Strong sense of ownership, structure, and quality
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English (German is a plus)
• Curious, self‑driven, and eager to contribute to a high‑performing international team
• Comfortable working remotely with European counterparts
