Senior System Engineer - Platform Service; Hybrid

Senior Platform Engineer (Dev Ops & SRE welcome! 👋)

Join eDreams ODIGEO as a Senior Platform Engineer of our Platform As A Service team 🚀. You will help build and operate the foundations that enable our product teams to move fast and safely in production, using modern infrastructure tooling, strong engineering practices and a clear focus on developer experience.

• Build, maintain and operate platform components used by multiple teams.
• Contribute to improving developer experience by providing reliable self‑service workflows and clear abstractions.
• Work with Infrastructure as Code and Git Ops workflows across the full lifecycle: design, implementation, testing and operation.
• Participate in the evolution of our Kubernetes‑based platforms, including multi‑cluster and multi‑region setups.
• Build and operate the service‑mesh layer based on Istio, including multi‑cluster service‑mesh capabilities.
• Work on edge‑related capabilities as part of the platform, contributing to how requests are handled and secured at scale.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design and implement solutions, learning how to make systems more scalable, reliable and maintainable.
• Help reduce cognitive load for stakeholders by automating common tasks and standardising patterns.
• Take ownership of well‑scoped problems and follow them through to production.

Work on meaningful problems with guidance and support, while progressively increasing your technical scope and autonomy.

• Experience working with cloud infrastructure and containerised environments.
• Good understanding of Linux, networking and distributed systems basics.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and Git‑based workflows.
• Ability to debug issues methodically and reason about production systems.
• A proactive and collaborative mindset, comfortable asking questions and learning from others.
• Ownership attitude: you care about the quality and reliability of what you ship.

• Demonstrated comfort using practical AI tools such as Git Hub Copilot, ChatGPT or other AI‑powered coding assistants.
• Curiosity and eagerness to experiment with emerging AI‑driven solutions in software development workflows.
• Ability to leverage AI tools to debug code, streamline development processes and enhance productivity.
• Enthusiastic about continuously learning and quickly adapting to new AI features and capabilities.
• Experience or interest in collaborating closely with AI tools as “pair programmers.”
