As a Backend Engineer, you will build the high-performance APIs that transform terabytes of data into valuable insights for over 100,000 hotels worldwide. You will help support our existing BI customer base and develop features to attract new customers. You are passionate about writing clean, readable, and scalable code to help our customers make well-informed decisions. You will work in close collaboration with our product team and a talented group of software engineers, Dev Ops engineers to drive key initiatives forward.

• Architect, code, and maintain new and existing Python and Go microservices.
• Deploy and monitor services in a reproducible and scalable way.
• Crunch large amounts of data on the fly in API implementations and data processing jobs to master our complex datasets.
• Take ownership of our codebase and infrastructure, finding ways to improve performance and structure, including the use of AI tools to accelerate development.
• Ensure high-quality deliverables through extensive testing as part of your development process.
• Collaborate within product scrum teams to create high-performing and efficient APIs for new feature developments.

You will join a highly skilled engineering team that manages services for the largest set of hotel metadata in the hospitality industry. We design, implement, and integrate the entire landscape that supports our business-critical processes, working on features for our BI tools and new performance plans. Our team architects the core abstractions and backend components that empower other engineering teams, playing a vital part in exposing data points to our internal services.

You'll be part of a dynamic team with hubs in Ghent and Barcelona, collaborating with other engineers and business power users.

• Strong professional experience in a similar Backend Engineer role.
• Strong experience writing Python and/or Go for microservice architectures on a cloud platform like GCP (or any public cloud provider).
• Proven experience dealing with large datasets in a No
  
  SQL environment and a passion for performance optimizations.
• Strong architectural thinking with a clear opinion on API design and architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with AI coding tools like Claude Code, with a positive attitude and a clear opinion on their application.
• A proactive, self‑learning mindset with a strong sense of ownership and excellent communication skills.
• Fluent in English.

• Experience with the other language (Python or Go) you have less experience in.
• A product‑mindful approach to engineering.
• Familiarity with Elixir or Elm.
