Senior Backend Engineer

• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and Dev Ops/platform teams to build meaningful features through an Agile SDLC/Kanban workflow
• Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to retrospectives
• Define technical requirements and identify effective solutions to meet team goals
• Participate in engineering retrospectives focused on testing, architecture, automation, and coding standards
• Improve platform architecture and build robust, scalable features
• Focus on delivering customer value and improving user experience
• Collaborate with the Backend Guild, Product, Platform, Dev Ops, and Frontend teams
• Contribute to quality, performance, and developer experience through clean architecture, code generation, linters, templates, and test-driven development

• 5+ years of backend development experience
• 2+ years of experience with a strongly typed language or Type Script
• Strong experience with RDBMS, using raw queries or an ORM
• Solid background in unit and integration testing
• Experience with message brokers such as SNS, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Google Pub/Sub
• Bonus:
  Experience with Node.js, GraphQL, GCP or AWS, gRPC, and protobufs
• Bonus:
  Strong grasp of SOLID principles

Demonstrates extensive backend development experience with a focus on building scalable features and improving platform architecture. Proficient in collaborating across teams to enhance user experience and deliver customer value through Agile methodologies.
