We’re looking for a high-potential finance professional who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments to lead and scale our finance operations. Reporting directly to the leadership team, you will work closely with founders and C-level executives, supporting key finance initiatives and gaining hands-on exposure to investment processes and fundraising activities.

This role is ideal for someone with strong financial fundamentals who wants to grow into a senior finance leadership position over time, while remaining hands-on and close to the business.

Flomics is a fast-growing biotech company founded in 2018 in Barcelona. We are developing a revolutionary liquid biopsy test for the early detection of cancer, based on the analysis of cell-free RNA in blood. By combining cutting-edge genomics with advanced bioinformatics and machine learning, we’re identifying novel biomarker signatures that can transform diagnostics. Our goal: make cancer detection simple, scalable – and possible from just a single blood sample.

Your responsibilities

Strategic finance & analysis

• Build and maintain financial models (historical and projections) to support business planning and decision-making.
• Monitor key financial drivers (costs, margins, headcount, cash burn).
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.

Finance Operations & reporting

• Oversee accounting (managed externally), monthly closings, and financial reporting.
• Ensure internal controls, fiscal planning, and compliance.
• Manage liquidity, cash flow, and risk exposure proactively.

Fundraising & support

• Assist in the preparation of materials for investors, grants, and due diligence processes.
• Support investor reporting and data requests.
• Work closely with founders during fundraising processes.

Grants & funding compliance

• Partner with the grants team to track budgets and eligible costs.
• Support financial reporting for public and private funding programs.

Growth & international expansion

• Contribute to financial analysis related to growth initiatives and potential international expansion.
• Support the setup and financial monitoring of new entities as the company scales.

• MBA, Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or similar.
• 3-6 years of experience in finance, consulting, audit, or corporate finance.
• Solid understanding of financial modeling, FP&A, and basic accounting principles.
• Proven ability to work with tools required of a finance professional, including the latest AI tools.
• Interest in working closely with senior leadership and gaining exposure to investment and fundraising processes.
• Proactive, hands-on mindset and able to operate with both strategic vision and operational execution.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

• Background in startups or scaleups, ideally in biotech, tech, or healthcare.
• Experience with international structures or expansion.
• Background in audit (Big 4 or similar).
• Proficient knowledge of accounting, taxation, and financial reporting standards.
