Working alongside a lean group of talented individuals the Investment Associate will be directly reporting to the Investment Director for the Living vertical (focused on residential developments with special emphasis on Build to Sell and Affordable). This role will support the origination, underwriting, execution and financing of new residential investment opportunities across Spain, contributing to the growth of the Living vertical.
The role combines analytical, strategic, and transactional responsibilities, with exposure to the full investment lifecycle — from sourcing and underwriting to closing and asset management, and track impact in alignment with CT’s goals. This role blends analytical rigor with community partnership, ideal for a collaborative, equity-centered professional who enjoys both numbers and relationships.
In detail, you will act in different roles:
- Origination & Market Analysis:
- Support in the identification and evaluation of new residential investment opportunities across Spain.
- Conduct market research, benchmarking, and competitive analysis to identify trends and target submarkets.
- Prepare investment teasers and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Help keep databases updated.
- Lead Investment Outlook.
- Underwriting & Transaction Execution:
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to assess investment returns and sensitivity analyses.
- Coordinate due diligence processes (technical, legal, financial, and environmental) with internal and external advisors.
- Draft, prepare and review investment memorandums for presentation to the Investment Committee.
- Prepare financing materials, including financing recommendations.
- Support in transaction structuring, negotiation, and execution of acquisition and financing agreements.
- Asset Management:
- Assist in drafting Asset Management Plan for acquisitions.
- Business plan updates.
- Track project performance versus underwritten assumptions and prepare periodic reports for management and investors.
- Liaise with development, design, and asset management teams to ensure alignment across all phases of the project.
- Monitor market and regulatory developments affecting ongoing or future projects.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in business, finance, real estate, economics, law or a related field; advanced training/credentials welcome.
- 5-7 years of experience in real estate investment or equivalent experience in transaction services.
- Proven experience matching your expected Mission, including residential development, financing, underwriting, due diligence, and closing processes.
- Solid understanding of the Spanish real estate market, particularly residential segments.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple work streams simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate, manage and foster inclusive internal and external relationships.
- Proficient writing, editing and proofreading skills with the ability to gather and organize information appropriately in English, Spanish and Catalan.
- Proficient Excel and financial analysis skills.
- Proficient PowerPoint skills.
- Comfort with CRM tools.
- Effective communication (both oral and written).
- Collaboration and trust-building, with the ability to work as part of a team.
