Offer Description
Aridditive is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in Structural Analysis for 3D Concrete Printing to join our R&D and Engineering team in Barcelona (Spain). The researcher will play a key role in the design, modelling, and structural validation of innovative concrete elements manufactured through advanced digital construction technologies.
The position involves working on lightweight structural systems
, geometry-driven architectural components
, and prefabricated concrete parts produced using 3D Concrete Printing. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing advanced structural analysis, defining reinforcement strategies (metallic, non-metallic, fibres or other compatible systems), and designing connection systems between prefabricated elements to ensure structural performance and constructability.
The researcher will contribute to the development of internal structural design methodologies
, the interpretation and application of relevant standards (e.g., Eurocodes), and the preparation of technical reports and research documentation
. The role also includes participation in innovation activities and collaboration with specialists in materials, design, and digital fabrication.

Research Field Architecture – Other Education Level PhD or equivalent
Research Field Engineering – Civil engineering Education Level PhD or equivalent
- Strong background in structural engineering
, with expertise in the analysis and design of concrete structures. - Advanced proficiency in Finite Element Modelling (FEM) using tools such as Abaqus, ANSYS, RFEM, SAP
2000, MIDAS or equivalent. - Solid understanding of the mechanical behaviour of concrete
, including nonlinear response, cracking, stability and failure mechanisms. - Experience in the design and assessment of connection systems for structural or prefabricated components (metallic and/or non-metallic).
- Ability to evaluate and define reinforcement strategies (metallic, non-metallic, fibres or other compatible systems).
- Familiarity with relevant structural codes
, especially Eurocodes (EN 1991, EN 1992, EN 1993). - Strong analytical skills and ability to validate structural performance through numerical methods.
- Excellent technical writing skills
, including the preparation of reports, structural justifications, and research documentation. - Capacity to work with complex geometries and to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (materials, digital fabrication, design).
- Creativity, problem-solving ability, and interest in applying structural engineering to emerging construction technologies

- PhD degree is mandatory and must be completed at the time of application.
- Valid work permit for Spain is required
; applications without legal eligibility to work in Spain cannot be considered. - Demonstrated experience in structural analysis of concrete elements
, preferably involving non-standard geometries or prefabricated systems. - Proven ability to perform advanced FEM simulations and interpret structural results with rigor.
- Experience in the design of reinforcement layouts and/or connection systems for structural components.
- Ability to produce high-quality technical reports and documentation for research and engineering purposes.
- Strong command of spoken and written English
. - Availability for on-site collaboration with the engineering and R&D teams in Sant Vicenç dels Horts (20min train to Barcelona).
