Commissioning Engineer; Intralogistics

We are creating a European Automation HUB based in Barcelona, from which commissioning projects will be delivered across Europe. We are looking for a hands‑on System Commissioning Engineer whose main role is to perform on‑site commissioning at customer facilities. This is a field‑based role with extensive travel across Europe (approx. 50–60%), with trips typically lasting 5 to 15 days. When not on site, the role can be performed remotely;

candidates based in Barcelona may also work from the office if desired.

• Perform on‑site system commissioning and start‑up of automated solutions at customer locations across Europe.
• Execute functional, performance, FAT and SAT tests to ensure systems meet specifications.
• Identify, analyse and troubleshoot technical issues during commissioning and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate closely with project managers, engineering teams and customers during commissioning phases.
• Prepare commissioning documentation, reports and support final system handover to the client.
• Train customers on system operation and basic maintenance.
• Ensure all activities comply with safety and EHS standards.

• Engineering background (Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or similar).
• Proven experience as a commissioning / start‑up engineer in automation environments

• AGV/AMR knowledge or experience is highly valued
  .
• PLC knowledge required (programming experience is a plus).
• Ability to work autonomously on customer sites.
• Strong customer‑oriented mindset and communication skills.
• Fluent English required; additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Europe.
• Candidates can be based anywhere in Spain, provided they have access to an international airport
