About the research group
The candidate will join the group led by Dr. Laura Valle at the Hereditary Cancer Program of the Catalan Institute of Oncology, IDIBELL. The group’s lines of research are focused on the identification of the genetic causes of colorectal cancer predisposition (monogenic syndromes and polygenic risk), and the better characterization of new hereditary colorectal cancer and polyposis syndromes, as well as early-onset colorectal cancer.
About the role

- End-to-end analysis of somatic NGS data (whole-exome, whole-genome and targeted panel sequencing) including variant detection and downstream analyses such as tumor mutational burden and mutational signatures
- Analysis and interpretation of different types of genomic alterations (SNVs, InDels, copy-number alterations, and other relevant events)
- Access, management, and analysis of data from public cancer genomics repositories
- Development, adaptation, and maintenance of reproducible bioinformatics workflows and pipelines
