This position is an excellent fit for someone with a background in psychology (or other related social sciences) who in the future is considering applying to a PhD program, and/or pursuing a career in behavioral research.
The RA would collaborate with two professors in different research projects (detailed below):
Governance and the growth and sustainability of entrepreneurial firms- How do governance and decision‑making structures impact the growth and sustainability of entrepreneurial firms.
- How firms build effective relationships with stakeholders (e.g. employees, investors, and customers) and ensure value is shared in ways that support long‑term success.
- How entrepreneurial firms can effectively manage their workforce to address challenges such as hiring, talent retention and leadership development.
Differences between material purchases and experiential purchases
- How different types of purchases are processed. For instance, whether experiential purchases (travel, restaurants, movies) are processed more intuitively, or are surrounded by more uncertainty, versus material purchases (cars, clothes, appliances).
- How do consumers process the information and make decisions for one type or purchase versus the other?
- Fluency or near fluency in English (ideally also fluency in Spanish).
- Literature review: ability to conduct literature searches related to the above topics, identify articles and summarize key findings.
- Coding and statistical analysis: coding of materials or data entry for analysis in studies.
- Theory development: participation in the elaboration and construction of the theoretical framework of our projects.
- Design and running of survey studies and experiments (online and “paper and pencil”), exporting data, data analysis and summary of results.
- Statistics: knowledge of statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, or R) and analysis in the social sciences (ANOVAs, regressions, moderated mediation) and, ideally, experience in multilevel modelling. Knowledge of Python (text mining, scraping and text analysis) would also be a plus.
- Writing: capability to write for academic journals (ideally with previous experience, e.g., writing a research thesis).
- BS/BA degree or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Social Psychology, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Marketing or Commercial engineering (or in a related field).
- Work permit for Spain.
- Highly proficient in English (both oral and written).
- Full‑time position (1.830 euros/month before tax).
- Work‑contract and Social Security.
- March.
1 year with the possibility of extending.
