Senior Consultant

ROLE As a Senior Consultant within Alira Health’s Management Consulting Division, you will work on client engagements at the intersection of life sciences and strategy, taking full ownership of projects or significant components of complex engagements. Working closely with Engagement Managers, Principals, and Partners, you will drive engagements spanning market and opportunity assessments, portfolio and indication prioritizations, commercial due diligences, and corporate and growth strategy projects for clients in Biotech, Pharmaceuticals, Med Tech, Diagnostics, and Health Tech.

Your core contribution will involve leading the development of analytical frameworks and project methodologies, translating findings across work streams into compelling storylines and actionable strategic recommendations, and managing client relationships to deliver high-impact outcomes.

• Lead and manage the full execution of projects or major project components, ensuring alignment between methodologies, deliverables, and client expectations.
• Provide methodological guidance across secondary and primary research activities and quantitative model development, ensuring analytical rigour and coherence across work streams.
• Develop comprehensive project storylines, connecting analytical findings into clear, actionable strategic recommendations for clients.
• Create and present client-ready materials, including research outputs, interim deliverables, and final project reports.
• Train and mentor junior team members on project case teams and through formal mentorship programs, providing both day-to-day guidance and longer-term development support.
• Build and develop recognized expertise in one or more therapeutic or functional areas, contributing to the team’s knowledge base and supporting client conversations.

Master’s degree with an excellent academic record in Business, Economics, Finance, or Life Sciences (e.g., Medicine, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering); MBA, PhD, or specialized Master’s are considered a plus. 4-5 years of professional experience, preferably in management/strategy consulting; background in life sciences strategy, healthcare, or private equity is also considered. Demonstrated experience managing and coaching small teams of 2-4 people. Strong analytical skills and structured problem-solving ability, with the capacity to guide teams across both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.

Excellent communication and client management skills, with the ability to manage expectations, navigate complex conversations, and present confidently to senior stakeholders. Ability to work effectively across multiple projects simultaneously in a multicultural, fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional languages are considered a plus.
