Join the team responsible for the localization of Apple software and Siri. We are looking for an experienced German Language Expert to localise software and related content into German.

Our team is looking for highly motivated individuals with the right mix of technical, creative, organizational and communication skills to provide technical translations and adaptations for our software.

This position is highly suited to technical translators with product localization experience. You will be working in an exciting, supportive team, interact with other localization teams at Apple, as well as engineering and QA teams, and gain valuable insights into the development process at Apple!

Fluency and translation experience in German are crucial. The environment is fast paced, requiring the ability to handle workload with quick delivery schedules. In addition to project work, other responsibilities include contributing to improving our tools and workflows; evangelizing standard processes for localization friendly content; defining and driving improvements for our German customers. Strong communication and collaboration skills, attention to detail, and proven ability to manage priorities are crucial.

• Translation of Apple products into German
• Maintaining style guides and language glossaries
• Ensuring terminology consistency across Apple products and services in German
• Collaboratively assessing impact and implementing localization changes
• Bugs monitoring, reporting and resolution
• Working with cross-functional groups to ensure both quality and timeliness standards are met
• Assisting with confidential translations and feedback
• Contributing to tools and process enhancements

• Fluency in German with current and direct exposure to German culture
• Familiar with machine translation and post-editing
• Fluent in English to perform English ↔ German translations and communicate with cross-functional stakeholders worldwide
• Experience with CAT tools and software UI translation

• Degree in Applied Linguistics, Translation, Culture & Literature or equivalent
• Experience with localisation and internationalisation, with a critical eye for excellent UX copy
• Excellent knowledge of the structural aspects of German and possibly other languages (syntax, semantics, phonology, phonetics)
• Experience in natural language processing and computational linguistics
