We are hiring - Vessel Boarding Agent | Barcelona, Spain
Next Maritime is looking for a motivated, proactive and service-oriented Vessel Boarding Agent to join our Operations team in Barcelona
.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with previous vessel agency or port operations experience who wants to develop their career within an international, fast-paced maritime environment.

What will you do?- Coordinate and monitor vessel arrivals, departures and port calls
- Manage vessel nominations and operational files from opening through completion
- Liaise with port authorities, terminals, customs, surveyors, suppliers, vessel crews and other stakeholders
- Prepare, manage and submit operational and shipping documentation
- Attend vessels and provide onboard operational support
- Coordinate port services, provisions, crew changes and logistics arrangements
- Keep clients and all relevant parties continuously informed about operational progress
- Respond effectively to operational issues and support their timely resolution
- Maintain accurate operational records and ensure compliance with safety, port and company procedures
- Ideally 2-4 years of experience as a Vessel Boarding Agent, Ship Agent or in a similar port operations role
- Advanced English is essential
; fluent Spanish is also required - Degree or vocational training in Logistics, International Trade, Maritime Studies, Transport, Business Administration or a related field
- Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work confidently with vessel crews, clients, authorities, terminals and suppliers
- Good knowledge of shipping documentation, port operations and maritime safety requirements
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills and familiarity with vessel agency, port operations or logistics software
- Availability and flexibility to work according to vessel and operational requirements, including outside regular office hours when necessary
- Valid driving license, as the position involves attending vessels and working across port facilities
- Full-time position based in Barcelona, Spain
