The Maintenance Manager is responsible insuring safe, compliance, efficient and sustainable assets condition to allow production and business supply. In order to fulfil this mission, he’s planning, directing, and realize of all preventative and corrective maintenance and repair, modifications, enhancements to and / or new construction of production facilities, energy facilities and buildings, in order to achieve the required technical and operational readiness and reliability of the facility.

Those activities has to be done in an efficient and cost effective manner, enabling the optimal production quality and quantity levels    The Maintenance Manager is a member of the technical / production team for a factory, site, jointly responsible for an optimal production process. The key focus of the Maintenance Manager is organizing and supervising all maintenance and repair activities, including preventive maintenance on existing facilities.

Activities may include smaller CAPEX projects on existing equipment / production lines.
In order to keep the production processes running with a minimum of unplanned interruptions, production equipment, buildings and supporting facilities have to be maintained, and in case of break down, repaired, both by own maintenance staff as well as by contracted resources. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing all maintenance and repair activities.

**** Maintenance planning:
** o Prepares the mid and long term maintenance planning for the assigned area, including budgetso Liaises with functional or operational area managers throughout the organisation to coordinate scheduled maintenance activities with their operations.o Plans, prioritises, schedules, and manages all maintenance activities (planned maintenance programmes, shut-downs, or emergency repairs) to rectify break-downs and malfunctions and minimise business disruptions.
** Maintenance management:
** o Prepares / prioritizes maintenance activities with regard to malfunctions, maintenance, repairs and modifications, in such a way that the work can be performed in an efficient and safe manner and the production department(s) encounter minimal nuisance and / or stagnation.o Assist in setting, re-setting and adjusting production and packaging equipment of complex product and format transitions, so that production can proceed undisturbed.o

Assesses the nature of the maintenance, and study of the drawings and manuals, ensures the availability of necessary materials, parts and tools and ensures the planning of the execution with relevant departmentso Manages all technical maintenance and repair work to be performed by the employees of the maintenance department, plans the work, providing assignments and tasks, and arranging the activities.

Instructs on methods and procedures and ensures the necessary safety measures are taken, so that repair and service activities are completed accurately, safely, and on-time.o Supervises external technicians, providing assignments, checking safeguards and evaluation of the work performedo Monitors the execution in qualitative and quantitative terms, checking the progress and evaluating the results. Resolves difficulties.
** Troubleshooting:
** o Troubleshoots any mechanical, electrical and technical control of production equipment, utility equipment, and refrigerating systems and in offices and warehouses, through received messages, such that the work in terms of technology and safety can be resumed and any stagnation is limited to a minimum.o Locates the cause of the disturbance, determines whether mechanics of third parties must be hired, assesses the nature and extent of faults and determines whether immediate repair is necessary and possible.
