Local Cuisine Classification for Global Food Delivery — Remote (Mexico)
Are you a native  Spanish  speaker with a strong understanding of local food and solid English comprehension?  Welo Data  is seeking contributors for a global food delivery project.
In this freelance role, you will review restaurant menu items written in  Spanish  and classify them using a standardized taxonomy in Americanized English. Your cultural knowledge and linguistic skills will directly help enhance food category recognition across diverse global markets.
What You Will Do    Read & Review:  Analyze the name, category, and description of menu items written in  Spanish
Confirm Context:  Check the item photo (if available) to visually verify the food type.
Classify (Dish Label):  Assign the most accurate Dish Label from an English-language taxonomy dropdown (e.g., searching keywords like  pasta  or  grilled chicken ).
Categorize (Course Label):  Select the appropriate Course Label in English (e.g., Appetizer, Main Course, Side Dish, Dessert, Beverage, Other).
Add Contextual Notes:  Provide a brief note for any items that seem unclear, ambiguous, or highly localized to ensure no data row is left blank.

What We’re Looking For    Linguistic Background:  Native  Spanish  speaker currently based in  Mexico
English Comprehension:  Strong ability to confidently navigate, read, and select from taxonomy options written in Americanized English.
Cultural Expertise :
Deep familiarity with  Mexican  restaurant menus, local cuisine terminology, and regional ingredients.
Tech - Savvy :
Comfortable using a web browser to navigate structured data entry tasks.
Detail - Oriented : A commitment to providing consistent, highly accurate, and quality work.
Prompt Availability :
Ability to complete the assignment within 1–2 business days after receiving system access.
