Supervisor de contabilidad

The Colombia Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the full accounting and financial reporting cycle for the Colombian entity while being physically located in Mexico. This role ensures compliance with IFRS, DIAN requirements, and corporate reporting standards, including USGAAP (  The position supervises both internal and external teams, ensures accuracy of financial information, delivers accurate closing financial reports, supports regional business objectives, and is a reference for the company with internal control aspects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise the Colombia accounting team (external resources) and Accounts payable team (internal team). To make synergies with regional Accounts receivable and Regional Treasury teams to deliver accurate financial reports.
Execute monthly and quarterly close: supervise journal entries, provisions and reconciliations, ensure accounting accurateness and deliver closing reports (financial statements) for local and USGAAP purposes.
Ensure compliance with IFRS and local Colombian accounting obligations, tax standards, and DIAN requirements.
To assist in building policies and procedures, making sure related departments compliance towards a SOX control environment.
Support business in decision making by providing necessary analysis.
Review and validate account reconciliations, fixed assets, inventory, intercompany transactions, and statutory reports.
Coordinate with external auditors, statutory auditors, tax advisors, and DIAN when required.
Contribute to a compliance environment. Assist the Controller to ensure policies and procedures are understood in the organization and proper controls and compliance are in place.
Provide oversight and expertise in SAP B1 for Colombia processes (must be functional and operational knowledge).
Assist with projects, as needed.
This position requires from 5 up 10% travelling to Colombia.

Timely and accurate month-end close for Colombia.
Compliance with IFRS and DIAN filings without penalties.
Accuracy in reporting and ability to explain highlights after a financial analysis.
Reduction of audit findings (internal/external).
OPEX control.
Quality and consistency of SAP B1 process execution.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field.
5–7 years accounting experience and at least 2 as accounting leader.
Experience in IFRS. Experience supervising Colombian accounting and USGAAP is highly desirable.
Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with SAP S4/Hana/B1required.
Requires Excel and suit office proficiency
Knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and SOX control environment.
Intermediate English (able to interact with corporate auditors and prepare documentation).
Desirable: experience with Colombian accounting/tax rules.
Experience in multi-entity, multi-currency environments.
