Job Description – Accounting Specialist
Department: Finance
Location:
[Puebla, Mexico] – [Hybrid]
Reports to:
Accounting Team Lead
Position Summary
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including processing transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Record and process accounting transactions in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
Perform and review timely and accurate bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded in the accounting system.
Liaise and collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure the completeness of bank reconciliations.
Review and ensure accuracy of credit card transactions, maintaining compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Manage and update prepaid accounts schedules, preparing and posting related journal entries in the accounting system.
Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Maintain organized and accurate accounting records for audits and compliance.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proper documentation and coding of expenses.
Assist in process improvement initiatives within the accounting department.
Qualifications
~ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
~3–5 years of experience in accounting roles.
~ Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP / IFRS).
~ Proficiency with ERP systems – SAP an asset.
~ Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
~ Excellent organizational and time management skills.
~ Excellent critical thinking and results oriented.
~ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in multinational companies.
Experience working with multiple currencies.
Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written).
