Financial Director

Company Overview   Our client is a leading global logistics and parcel delivery network, rapidly expanding its footprint across Latin America. With a strong growth trajectory and dynamic operational scale in Mexico, they are seeking a strategic financial leader to build and oversee the entire finance function for the country.
Position Summary
The Financial Director will serve as the head of finance for the Mexico region, responsible for establishing robust financial governance, driving performance insights, and providing strategic direction to support aggressive growth. This role requires a combination of strong technical finance expertise, leadership agility, and a deep understanding of local regulatory and business environments.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Finance Leadership
Act as the strategic finance business partner to the Mexico Country Manager and senior leadership team.
Develop and implement the regional financial strategy aligned with global objectives, covering planning, forecasting, budgeting, and capital allocation.
Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to optimize profitability, pricing, and cost efficiency in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Financial Control & Compliance
Establish and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting standards in compliance with Mexican GAAP and group requirements.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly/quarterly/annual closing and reporting.
Oversee all tax planning, compliance, and statutory filings, managing relationships with local auditors and tax authorities.
Business Performance & Analytics
Develop and monitor KPIs to track business performance across operations, sales, and network efficiency.
Lead cost management initiatives and ROI analysis for fleet, facility, technology, and commercial investments.
Build scalable financial models to evaluate new business opportunities, route profitability, and market expansion.
Team & Functional Development
Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing local finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Drive digital transformation in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Collaborate with global finance teams to ensure alignment and adoption of best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA/ACCA/CMA strongly preferred.
Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role (Finance Director/Head of Finance/CFO).
Proven background within logistics, transportation, e-commerce, or fast-moving B2C/B2B services; experience in a multinational corporation is essential.
Strong experience in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and ERP implementation (SAP/Oracle preferred).
Excellent leadership and communication skills in English, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across cultures.
