Planner​/Buyer

Under general supervision, is responsible for developing, organizing and coordinating production plans and inventory levels to maximize established priorities. This description is illustrative but not limiting.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Based on analysis of open orders and forecast, develops plans to ensure that Raw Materials are ordered and in stock to be used in the production lines, while maintaining an inventory level, adjusting the plan, depending on variations and dates. Follow all instructions regarding work issued by your immediate supervisor.

• Work together with suppliers to ensure the delivery and shipment of materials.

• Based on production line capacities, establish the material requirement schedule, and workload, to set sequences and times to achieve the production plan. Monitor reports and schedules to recommend capacity increases, whether in overtime, shifts, or personnel.

• Monitor inventory levels and capacity, to meet plans, ensuring they are aligned with orders. Resolve inventory issues and material shortages and make recommendations to avoid repetitive or future problems. Disposition of materials according to engineering changes, scrap levels, adjusting pending work orders and inventory.

• Know the appropriate tool for engineering changes.

* Analyze best strategy for inventory control. Track the configuration of your strategy, to ensure its correct operation.

* Develop your analytical skills to fix discrepancies, understand incorrect behavior, or follow up on the solution of systematic errors in material handling.

• Based on the needs of internal and external customers, prioritize and lead activities for a prompt resolution.

• Develop the ability to respond and lead for effective communication at different levels, clearly and concisely.
Requirements
University degree with 5 to 8 years of experience in the same position..

Internal SAP certification or knowledge of electronic MRP system; SAP preferably.
Experience in activities on the production floor.
Bilingual English – Spanish.
Knowledge of Quality System concepts and EHS Management System.
