Senior Backend Engineer - Betslip Team

About the Role

Join our dynamic team in Malaga as a Senior Backend Engineer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our Sports book domain, working on the most impactful problems and driving change with effective momentum. You will collaborate closely with Staff Engineers, participate in tech meetings, validate architectural decisions, and ensure seamless communication flow. You will also collaborate with various teams, contributing to planning, tech solutions discussions, and feature development.

• Take ownership, problem‑solving and collaborate with other teams.
• Design and implement from idea to production.
• Build for scale, availability, performance and security across the stack.
• Work with product managers, architects, QA engineers and other developers in a highly collaborative agile environment.
• Integrate new products and build internal services to support our ecosystem.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor team members.
• Ensure services are production‑ready, observable, and maintainable through monitoring, alerting, and on‑call participation.

• 6+ years of software development experience with Java, Spring Boot and Event‑Driven Architectures.
• Experience designing microservices, Kubernetes, containerization (Docker) and Kafka messaging systems.

• Implement resilience patterns (e.g., retries, circuit breakers, graceful degradation).
• Design and maintain monitoring dashboards (metrics, logs, traces) and alerts to proactively detect issues.
• Hands‑on experience developing highly scalable RESTful end‑to‑end microservices.

• Familiarity with Reactive Programming (e.g., RxJava) and Vert.x.
• Experience on platforms like AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
