Senior Backend Engineer (Golang):
Designing and optimizing next-generation backend systems for a sports and wellness platform with an accent on search, authentication, and scaling to accommodate massive user growth. Focus on crafting resilient infrastructure, standardizing data pipeline processes, and delivering company-wide technical topics with a forward-looking vision.

Location:

This position can be based in Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia, Spain
, with in office-attendance expected in the Valencia office approximately 3 days per month
. Extended remote work is an option for up to 120 days within the EU, UK, and Switzerland.

Urban Sports Club is a leading European platform for sports and wellness, recently united with Wellhub to create a global wellbeing ecosystem.

• Ensure the productivity and resilience of infrastructure, including monitoring and observability of services.
• Work on standardizing processes and building automation for data pipeline onboarding, deployment, and failure recovery.
• Work closely with the SRE team to ensure developer productivity and CI/CD adoption.
• Craft and operate services, infrastructure, and tools for batch and streaming pipelines running on Kubernetes and GCP.
• Work hands-on as part of a closely knit team.
• Solution architect and deliver company-wide technical topics aligning with a multi-year roadmap.

• 5+ years of experience in backend development
  .
• Experience in development, administration, operation, and troubleshooting of sophisticated, large-scale systems running on Kubernetes.
• Strong experience with Go and a practitioner of system design, architecture, and development best practices.
• Ability to break down challenges into modular, scalable solutions and bridge the gap between technology and business.
• Strong analytical mindset and curiosity to experiment and test changes.
• English: B2 required
