We are looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist with a strategic mindset, strong sense of ownership, and proven experience managing complex payrolls.
This role requires a professional capable of ensuring flawless payroll execution while guaranteeing full compliance with legal regulations and Odoo's internal policies. The ideal candidate approaches payroll with operational excellence, a risk-based mindset, and high accuracy in calculations.
The perfect fit combines the technical rigor of an auditor with the curiosity and analytical thinking of a payroll expert in Social Security and payroll taxation, someone who can translate regulatory complexity into reliable, streamlined processes.
In addition to leading payroll operations and calculations, this person will be responsible for optimizing Odoo's payroll modules by performing tests, adjustments, and validations to ensure full functionality.

This position follows a hybrid model: 40% remote work and 60% on-site at our office in Polanco, Mexico City.
Main Responsibilities
Operational and Fiscal Payroll Management
Execute and validate biweekly payroll in Odoo, ensuring accurate recording of movements, bonuses, commissions, and overtime.
Calculate final settlements (finiquitos) and severance packages, ensuring full compliance with legal tax with holdings.
Manage annual processes such as Christmas Bonus (Aguinaldo), Mexican Profit Sharing (PTU), and annual income tax adjustments (Annual ISR).
Control deductions related to INFONAVIT, FONACOT, Employee Loans, and alimony payments, ensuring timely payments to the corresponding institutions.
Keep payroll documentation up to date regarding applicable policies, formulas, and regulations.
Legal, Tax, and Social Security Compliance
Manage IDSE and SUA platforms for employee registrations, terminations, and salary adjustments, including payroll tax and Social Security contributions (Cuotas Obrero-Patronales).
Integrate and review the Social Security Base Contribution Salary (SBC)- both fixed and variable components, according to current regulations.
Ensure proper calculation and withholding of ISR, ISN (Payroll Tax), and applicable subsidies.
Calculate and file the Occupational Risk Premium (Prima de Riesgo) and maintain control of employee disabilities certificates and ST-7 forms.
Handle audits, inspections, and requests from authorities (IMSS, INFONAVIT, SAT, STPS, local authorities), and external auditors.
Oversee CFDI 4.0 digital stamping (timbrado), ensuring accounting integrity and fiscal compliance.
System Management and Continuous Improvement
Implement, configure, and optimize the Odoo payroll module within Odoo, validating salary rules and functionalities tax regulations and operational requirements.
Collaborate with Finance and HR teams to integrate processes and automations within the ERP.
Generate reports, layouts, and payroll cost analyses to support strategic decision-making.
Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payment, payslip, and benefit inquiries.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
5+ years of comprehensive experience managing complex payrolls (preferably in companies with 500+ employees or specialized firms).
Proficiency in ERP or payroll systems.
Solid knowledge of Mexican regulations: IMSS, INFONAVIT, ISR, ISN, SUA, IDSE, and CFDI 4.0.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and analytical skills.
Advanced English (technical reading and communication with international teams).
Key competencies: accuracy, analytical thinking, effective communication, problem-solving, resilience, and autonomy.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience implementing or managing payroll modules within an ERP.
Certifications or diplomas related to payroll, Social Security contributions, or CFDI payroll stamping.
Experience handling audits or statutory reports (dictámenes) related to payroll, local payroll tax, or Social Security audits.
Ability to guide or mentor staff a focus on building process improvements within

Odoo.
Familiarity with the official SAT Payroll Filling Guide and its complement.
Strong Interest in process optimization, digitalization, and administrative automation.
