Financial Controller

Location: Ciudad Nezahualcoyotl

ROLE PURPOSE    As a Financial Controller, this role will support the budgeting, planning, reporting and analysis function of the IDF MX. Reporting to the CFO MX, the Financial Controller will interact closely with the Group Finance team and local team.
A total package of qualities to be successful in the role will include strong data analysis, customer relationship, and project management skills to make informed decisions. This role will be responsible for maintaining a pulse on the competitive landscape within the segment by preparation of dashboards, reporting, and tools that monitor profitability.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the annual budgeting, rolling forecast and long-range planning processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business objectives.
Build and maintain financial models to support strategic decision-making, scenario planning and long-term growth initiatives.
Own the monthly and quarterly management reporting cycle, ensuring financial information is accurate, consistent and delivered on time.
Partner closely with Accounting on the month-end close, reviewing results and ensuring the integrity and reliability of the underlying data.
Reconcile management reporting with statutory and accounting records, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Ensure financial information complies with internal policies, accounting standards (IFRS) and relevant reporting requirements.
Continuously improve financial processes, reporting frameworks and the control environment to enhance accuracy, efficiency and scalability.
Support internal and external audit requests and other ad-hoc financial reviews.
Deliver monthly variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior periods, identifying key drivers and recommending corrective actions.
Prepare monthly reporting management and IFRS packages.
Prepare business cases to support new investments, strategic initiatives and other key business decisions.
Develop KPI dashboards and management reports to monitor business performance and drive operational efficiency.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Solid understanding of financial reporting and the month-end close process, and how they connect to IFRS.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Strong project management and planning skills, able to manage multiple simultaneous priorities.
Critical thinking, problem-solving and sound decision-making.
Effective business partnering with a wide range of stakeholders.
Willingness to learn, challenge the status quo and persevere through complex problems.
Knowledge of SQL is an advantage.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
Professional qualification (e.g. CPA / Contador Público, ACCA, CFA) is a plus.

Experience
Around 8-10 years of relevant experience, ideally in Financial Services, spanning FP&A/Controller and financial reporting.
Proven track record across both forward-looking analysis and the integrity of reported results.
Working knowledge of IFRS and its application to financial reporting.
Experience in an audit environment (e.g. Big
4) and/or supporting Risk teams is a plus
