Invoice Controller - Oil & Gas

Our client, a rapidly expanding multinational corporation with a strong operational base in  Barcelona , is seeking a highly skilled  Financial Controller  to join their team. This is a  fully remote  leadership position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in Spain while overseeing critical financial functions. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting operations, ensuring financial compliance, driving process improvements, and providing strategic financial insights to senior management.

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting operations, ensuring financial compliance, driving process improvements, and providing strategic financial insights to senior management.

Key Responsibilities   Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Spanish GAAP and IFRS.
Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance.
Coordinate and support external audits.
Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and reporting requirements.
Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to support business decisions.
Implement and manage financial systems and software.
Requirements   Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a significant portion in a controller or senior accounting management role.
Proven experience with Spanish GAAP and IFRS.
Expertise in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high degree of accuracy.
Experience working in a  fully remote  environment and managing distributed teams.
Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and implement financial controls.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is highly preferred.
Fluency in Spanish and English is essential.
