Spanish Translations Specialist Junior - Temporary Role

We are seeking an organised individual who is highly motivated and works well independently in a fast‑paced environment, as well as within a team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within our Global Translations Team, reviewing the Spanish translations of our global solutions. The reviews will be done through a Translation Software (Phrase).

The candidate must be bilingual (Spanish and English). This is a temporary position, initially intended to cover a colleague on medical leave, with an immediate start. The role can be based in Madrid or Bilbao, where BTS has offices. We follow a hybrid working model with 3 days working from home and 2 days in the office, encouraging regular in‑person collaboration.

• Review translated documents from English to Spanish and vice versa.
• Internalise/contextualise the translations for all the BTS language and terminology.
• Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders, clients, and colleagues to ensure high‑quality translated materials.
• Work with colleagues from global translations teams to create best practices and processes and build knowledge.
• Other ad hoc tasks as required.

• Writing and drafting skills
• Native Spanish speaker
• Experience with translations AI platforms
• Knowledge of Phrase is a plus
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and confidence in dealing with people.
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Independent, a quick learner, and comfortable taking on responsibility.

• Fluency in European Portuguese (not Brazilian Portuguese).
• Effective interpersonal skills and communication.
• Highly organise and flexible, proactive; always a step ahead and on top of tasks at hand; communicates needs, instructions, and decisions clearly (both verbally and in writing).
• Highly reliable to inspire trust and motivate other members of the team.
• Comfortable connecting with peers virtually, especially since BTS is a global, matrixed organisation.
• Resilience:
  Shows positive and solution‑finding attitude when faced with challenges. Shows confidence to perform own role without unnecessary support in normal circumstances.
