Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

TMC is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with proven experience in the design and   engineering of automated material handling systems for large-scale fulfillment operations. This role involves developing mechanical designs for conveyor, sortation, and intralogistics equipment that meet the rigorous technical and operational standards of e-commerce distribution environments. The ideal candidate has direct design experience on Amazon fulfillment center projects and brings a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, 3D modeling, and cross-functional project collaboration.

This is a remote position with required periodic visits to client sites in the United States. Non-U.S.
citizen candidates must hold a valid visitor or business visa (B1/B2 or equivalent) to enter the United States as a condition of employment.

| What do we expect from you?

Responsibilities:
 Design and develop mechanical systems and components for automated intralogistics solutions
including conveyor frames, sortation mechanisms, structural supports, and material handling
equipment.
 Produce detailed 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings using Solid Works,
AutoCAD, or equivalent CAD platforms in compliance with GD&T standards.
 Perform engineering calculations for load analysis, structural integrity, and mechanical
performance to validate designs against project specifications.
 Collaborate with electrical and controls engineering teams to ensure mechanical designs
accommodate system integration requirements.
 Conduct design reviews to verify compliance with Amazon engineering standards, safety
regulations, and applicable codes.
 Manage engineering change orders and maintain accurate revision-controlled documentation
throughout the project lifecycle.
 Coordinate with vendors and fabricators to ensure manufacturability of designs and resolve any
production-related engineering issues.
 Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) by reviewing mechanical assemblies and validating
builds against approved design documentation.
 Interface directly with Amazon project teams to incorporate client-specific design standards and
address technical feedback.

Requirements:
 Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
 Minimum 3 years of professional experience in mechanical design within automation,
intralogistics, or material handling environments, with demonstrated experience on Amazon
fulfillment center projects.
 Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Solid Works, Inventor, or equivalent, along with 2D
drafting tools.
 Strong understanding of GD&T, mechanical tolerancing, and engineering drawing standards.
 Experience designing mechanical systems for conveyor, sortation, or warehouse automation
equipment.
 Familiarity with structural analysis principles and the ability to perform or interpret engineering
calculations.
 Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent design deliverables
within project timelines.
 Effective collaboration and communication skills across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
 Availability to travel to client sites across North America for short-duration inspection visits.
 Advanced in English required for project coordination.
