Descripción del trabajo
Objective:
Ensure effective labor operations through a preventive and strategic approach, guaranteeing compliance with current labor legislation, proper management of payments, severance settlements and statutory termination packages, effective engagement with labor authorities, and strong handling of disciplinary cases and investigations that support employment termination decisions. Drive solutions to labor law reforms, as well as process auditing and automation initiatives to strengthen traceability, reduce risk, and promote a productive and fair work environment.
Responsabilities:
Payments, severance and termination strategy:
Define guidelines and decision criteria; validate calculations and supporting documentation; ensure consistency, legal compliance, and risk control in employee separations.
Deductions/with holdings management:
Administer and control payroll deductions in accordance with regulations, ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and coordination with Payroll/Finance.
Labor authorities:
Coordinate responses to inspections, requests, and hearings; compile case files, evidence, and formal responses; ensure timely and accurate compliance.
Labor investigations:
Review investigations and witness statements/evidence; draft reports and recommendations; ensure due process and strong documentation to support disciplinary actions.
Labor law reforms:
Translate legal changes into operational processes, training, policies, and playbooks; ensure adoption and standardization.
Audit and automation:
Map processes, identify gaps, define controls/KPIs, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Union relations:
Participate in the relationship with the union and in the review/negotiation of collective bargaining agreements.
Foreign national follow-up:
Follow up on cases involving foreign employees in coordination with the relevant teams, ensuring applicable compliance.
Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s degree completed in Law, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Professional license required (Cédula Profesional).
Preferred: specialization/diploma in Labor Law, Labor Relations, or Compliance.
Experience
~5+ years in Labor Relations / HR Labor / Labor Law.
~ Proven experience in:
~ Employment terminations, severance settlements and termination packages (criteria, documentation, risk control).
~ Labor investigations and disciplinary processes.
~ Interaction with labor authorities and inspections.
~ Payroll deductions/with holdings management with traceability and payroll coordination.
~ Policy implementation and operational rollout of changes driven by legal reforms.
~ Audit/process improvement projects (automation/digitalization preferred).
Technical Knowledge
Mexican labor legislation applicable to operations
Calculation and control of severance settlements/termination packages (concepts, criteria, payroll validation).
Handling inspections and regulatory requests: preparation, response, follow-up, and closure of findings.
Disciplinary policy management and investigation protocols.
Compliance auditing and control/KPI design.
Tools:
Intermediate–advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas).
English: level intermediate
