At theRest, we help restaurants grow sustainably in the fast-moving world of food delivery. We combine technology, data, and operational expertise to build solutions with real, measurable impact on our customers’ businesses.

We are an early-stage company (just over one year old), growing fast and building multiple initiatives in parallel. Until now, we’ve been working with external technical support, but we’re ready to bring this fully in-house and are looking for someone to own the entire technical function of the company.

We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader to take full ownership of tech at theRest, working directly with and reporting to the CEO.

This role is for someone who wants to define the technical strategy, make key architectural decisions, and write code. At the beginning, you’ll be very hands-on, building core systems and foundations time, you’ll grow with the company, helping us scale the platform, the processes, and eventually the technical team (which does not exist yet).

This is not a “manage only” role — it’s a build-first, lead-as-you-grow opportunity.

Own and drive the end-to-end technical strategy aligned with product and business goals.

Design, build, and maintain systems from idea to production.

Make pragmatic architectural decisions balancing speed, quality, and scalability.

Actively write production code (backend, integrations, internal tools).

Work directly with and report to the CEO, translating business strategy into technical execution.

Define best practices, technical standards, and strong foundations for future growth.

Gradually build and lead the engineering team as the company scales.

Experience building and maintaining production systems.

Ability to work autonomously and make technical decisions.

Strong problem-solving skills and product mindset.

Comfort collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Motivation to grow professionally and take on increasing responsibility.

Fluency in Spanish. English is essential.

Schedule:

Employees have the freedom to manage their own time, with a focus on meeting deliverables. Standard working hours are approximately 9:30 to 18:30.

Short Fridays: We finish at 13:30 every Friday.

Hybrid Work Model: Employees are required to work from the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Summer Perk: Work from home during the entire month of August.

WFA (Work From): Up to 2 weeks per year to work from anywhere in the world.
