UVic-UCC is a dynamic university in Central Catalonia committed to quality teaching, research and internationalisation. The Doctoral School coordinates doctoral studies and supports doctoral students.

Functions and duties

Represent the Doctoral School before governing bodies of UVic-UCC and other bodies as required.

Chair the Steering Committee of the Doctoral School.

Propose to the Rector the appointment of Steering Committee members.

Implement and ensure compliance with decisions adopted by the Steering Committee.

Inform the Steering Committee of actions taken and arising from their decisions.

Lead and coordinate day‑to‑day School activities and ensure continuity and compliance with UVic-UCC Strategic Plan objectives.

Prepare the School’s annual budget and manage it according to University governance criteria.

Prepare the annual report, action plan, and management report for approval by the Steering Committee.

Supervise academic and administrative management of the School.

Ensure compliance with the Code of Good Practice by all affiliated staff and take action in case of non‑compliance.

Ensure that human and material resources are suitable to develop School activities.

Promote excellence and internationalisation in research activities and doctoral studies.

Define collaboration proposals with other institutions and external centres and draft agreements.

Perform any other duties under university legislation and internal regulations.

Qualifications

Certification of level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it.

Excellent command of English.

Minimum of three recognised research activity periods, in accordance with Royal Decree 1086/1989.

Experience in university management.

Proven experience in research and knowledge transfer.

Experience in the management of doctoral programmes.

Leadership and teamwork skills.

Experience at international institutions.

Knowledge of the UVic-UCC educational model.
