Sr. Community Support Companion  As a Sr. Community Support Companion, you will have more than just a job – you will have the opportunity to directly impact someone’s life for the better. You will work with individuals in their own homes and surrounding communities, hiring, training and supervising employees who teach and assist clients in building skills necessary to live independently.
What is Supported Living?  Supported Living Services allow individuals with developmental disabilities to live in their own homes in the community, while developing independent living skills, creating meaningful relationships, and participating as active members in their families and community.
Responsibilities   Facilitating meaningful community connections
Establishing friendships
Exploring and participating in a variety of recreational and educational activities
Teaching independent life skills
Increasing helpful, adaptive behaviors
Participating in client team meetings as requested by Management
Facilitating and/or carrying out quality reviews to ensure the individual is receiving the support he/she requires
Assisting in coordination and arrangement of client support schedules
Being scheduled to be on‑call for after‑hour emergencies
Spending no more than 20% of working time on the following duties:
Assisting management in the development of the individual's Individual Support Plan, and attending related meetings
Assisting in setting up the new individual’s apartment and services
Providing substitute coverage when a Companion is absent as directed by Management
Providing hands‑on training to new Companions
Compiling client data and writing reports as directed by Management

Qualifications   High School Diploma or equivalent, and at least one year of training and experience in providing support services for individuals with physical or developmental disabilities, or an A.A. degree in psychology or a related field
Honesty, respect, and a positive, professional work ethic
Prominent level of accountability and dependability
Knowledge of positive behavior supports
Ability to support clients in daily routines, including nutrition, self‑care, social, recreational, personal relationships, and money management
Certified in CPR/First Aid and Pro Act within the first two weeks of employment
Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and lift 25 lbs
Successfully pass a Live Scan DOJ/FBI background check
Possess a valid California Driver’s license and provide a current driving record issued by the DMV
Provide proof of current car insurance
Provide High School Diploma and/or other qualifying certificates
