We're looking for an Industrialization Engineer to join our Optronics team in Granada, Spain.
Our TechnologySafran is a global leader in optronics, delivering cutting‑edge electro-optical systems for defense, aerospace, and security applications. Our portfolio features cutting‑edge multispectral imaging technologies, including both infrared and visible spectrum sensors. These technologies are integrated into airborne, naval, and land platforms, supporting missions from surveillance and reconnaissance to targeting and navigation. Safran’s optronic solutions are trusted by armed forces worldwide for their reliability, performance, and technological superiority.
We’re also a world leader in Resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing (R‑PNT) solutions that improve the reliability, performance and safety of critical applications, and high‑risk operations, even in GPS/GNSS denied environments. We provide virtually fail‑safe GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) and PNT (Positioning, Navigation and Timing) solutions for military and commercial applications worldwide.
To this end, we have developed industry‑leading solutions that are built around a sound foundation of ultra‑accurate synchronization (sub‑ns) and frequency distribution services. These combine to deliver a broad set of products and technical solutions based on the enhanced White Rabbit PTP (Precision Time Protocol) synchronization technology for myriad applications, ranging from timing distribution in financial networks to robust and reliable positioning.
In addition, we are experts on control systems and diagnostics applications for particle accelerators and scientific facilities. We provide highly innovative elements and dependable solutions with always time at the essence of the solution.
The PositionWe are looking for an Industrialization Engineer who is highly motivated to work with a talented and diverse engineering team to support the transition of innovative aerospace, defense, and optronic products from development into industrial production.
As part of the Engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring that products are manufacturable, testable, scalable, cost‑effective, and sustainable throughout their full lifecycle. You will play a key role in evaluating industrial risks, defining manufacturing strategies, and ensuring that product designs are optimized for efficient serial production and long‑term support.
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who can work proactively and closely with Hardware, FPGA, Software, Mechanical, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure successful industrialization and production readiness.
What you’ll be doing- Work with a friendly and positive team to transform innovative aerospace and defense products into reliable, sustainable, and scalable industrial solutions.
- You will work on international projects involving advanced electronic, embedded, optronic, and mission‑critical systems.
- You will have responsibility for assessing industrial viability, manufacturability, scalability, lifecycle sustainability, and production readiness from the earliest stages of product development.
- Collaborate with Hardware, FPGA, Software, Mechanical, Production Test, Quality, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to ensure that industrial requirements are considered throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Test (DFT) activities to optimize production efficiency, reduce complexity, improve yield, and ensure repeatable manufacturing processes.
- Define and support industrial validation activities, including prototype builds, pilot production runs, pre‑series manufacturing, and production ramp‑up plans.
- Evaluate industrial risks and define mitigation strategies covering manufacturing, supply chain, quality, compliance, and lifecycle‑related challenges.
- Assess supply chain robustness, supplier maturity, component availability, and long‑term sourcing strategies, including multi‑sourcing approaches for critical parts when feasible.
- Drive component lifecycle and obsolescence management activities to ensure…
