About the role:

This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to grow their accounting career while gaining hands-on experience in mortgage finance operations. This role will assist with daily financial transactions, reconciliations, reporting, and supporting month-end close activities specific to mortgage lending.

Key Responsibilities:

Record and classify financial transactions related to mortgage operations.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
Perform bank reconciliations and monitor escrow and trust accounts.
Support the processing of payments to vendors, investors, and third parties.
Help maintain accurate general ledger accounts and subledgers.
Assist with audits and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Track and reconcile loan funding, payoffs, and servicing entries.
Collaborate with the loan processing, post-closing, and servicing departments for financial data accuracy.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (completed or in progress).
1–2 years of accounting experience preferred, ideally in the mortgage, banking, or financial services industry.
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP.
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, or mortgage-specific platforms).
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Willingness to learn mortgage industry regulations and financial workflows.

Salary $22k - $24k gross
