As In Room Dining Assistant Manager, I will fully comprehend the vision of Six Senses to help people reconnect with themselves, others and the world around them and our values of local sensitivity and global sensibility, crafted experiences, emotional hospitality, responsible and caring, fun and quirky and pioneering wellness.
Sustainability, Wellness and Out of the Ordinary experiences are at the core of everything we do at Six Senses. I will safeguard these pillars and its strategic planning and development and ensure all directives, practices and initiatives are implemented, embraced, adopted within the hotel.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn this role, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the restaurant to provide exceptional products and services within brand operating standards.
I will ensure that all set policies, procedures, best practices are in place and rigorously enforced.
I will support the In Room Dining Manager and focus on the rejuvenation of the room service/culinary experience. Food & Beverage amenities, menus and wine lists will be constantly assessed to remain relevant and in keeping with Six Senses wellness and sustainability practices.
I will work in partnership with Guest Services, Reservations, and Front Office to ensure guest’s needs are determined /met.
The duties and responsibilities include:
- Supervise and support the daily In-Room Dining operation, ensuring service flows efficiently and meets established quality standards.
- Ensure all telephone calls are answered courteously, professionally and in line with departmental standards.
- Oversee the accurate taking, processing and coordination of orders from all Food & Beverage outlet menus.
- Maintain a guest-focused and empathetic approach, handling special requests, preferences and concerns with professionalism and care.
- Ensure prompt and efficient service delivery in accordance with brand standards and LQA expectations.
- Verify that all mise-en-place is properly prepared, organized and maintained prior to each service period.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all food and beverage menus, wine lists, promotions and daily F&B activities.
- Ensure up-to-date knowledge of outlet opening hours and operational procedures across the property.
- Promote and recommend menu items as directed by management, ensuring consistent upselling and revenue optimization.
- Maintain accurate knowledge of menu pricing and actively encourage upselling where appropriate.
- Supervise cleanliness, maintenance and correct functioning of departmental equipment, particularly during the night shift.
- Support the training, guidance and motivation of In-Room Dining Hosts, ensuring adherence to service standards and operational procedures.
- Monitor service quality, guest satisfaction and team performance, proactively addressing operational challenges.
- Interact with guests and hosts in a professional, positive and courteous manner, actively seeking feedback to enhance the guest experience.
- Ensure an exceptional guest journey from arrival to departure, leading effective service recovery in case of complaints and empowering hosts to resolve issues to guest satisfaction.
- Ensure purchasing practices align with the Six Senses sustainability platform, conducting stocktakes and storage assessments as required to maintain proper inventory levels and storage standards.
- Strictly adhere to LQA standards and respond proactively to guest feedback to continuously elevate service performance.
- Uphold all Six Senses operational guidelines, sustainability values and performance benchmarks, consistently striving to exceed expectations.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned to meet operational needs and business objectives.
To execute the position of In Room Dining Assistant Manager, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:
- At least 5 years of experience in In-Room Dining, Restaurant or similar F&B outlet within a luxury hotel environment, including supervisory exposure.
